French Courses in Montpellier: Methods and Objectives
Our pedagogical method solicits students’ active participation and promotes intercultural exchange. Instruction incorporates all linguistic activities (listening, reading, taking part in conversation, oral presentations and written expression), with concentration on the receptive skills needed to promote comprehension, and the productive skills of oral expression. With the use of various supports (from authentic documents or “realia” to educational materials), participants are granted access to the language in a manner which is both fun and practical, friendly and motivating!
French Levels and objectives:
Beginners: A1 / A2
This course is an introduction to the French language. Its objective is to teach the linguistic fundamentals of French and the communicative skills necessary to interact in simple situations and day-to-day life.
Elementary: A2 / A2+
This course aims to deepen participants’ understanding of linguistic fundamentals and to widen their communicative capacity with regard to familiar subjects and activities of daily life.
Intermediate 1: A2+ / B1 / B1+
This course seeks to further improve the communicative and linguistic competences necessary to interact in a variety of situations from daily life (family, work, hobbies, travels), and to express one’s opinion concerning current events and personal interests.
Intermediate 2: B1 / B2
This course is aimed to help students acquire the interactive skills of dialogue and debate, cultivating ease and spontaneity, all while deepening linguistic competence (for independent use of the language).
Advanced: B2 / B1
For a more profound study of the French language, this course seeks to enrich and refine communicative and linguistic competences through the use of various socio-cultural supports, helping students to attain autonomy with regard to the language.
Courses are adapted to your level and your interests.
At the time of your inscription, you will need to take a written evaluation and return it to the school by email, fax, or post. During your first days of class, your oral competence will be properly assessed, thus allowing you to be placed in the appropriate course for your level. Pronunciation is systematically corrected and homework is given each day, helping you to make the most rapid progress.
